Mt Tarrengower Hill Climb
Mt Tarrengower Hill Climb 2010
Celebrating 80 years since the first Mount Tarrengower Hillclimb near the historic township of Maldon.
Historic, classic and vitage vehicles cars and motorcycles alike. There's only one way to conquer the Mount and that's at full noise, full rev's, grit your teeth, hang on for grim death and close your eyes. At speed there are a couple of blind corners but you can't back off, or make a mistake as there are shear drops to the base of the mount, keep throtle wide open till you cross the line. Then back off! hit the brakes! there's another corner right there and a few more metres up the road and your at the summit. No more road just the remains of an old popet head used for fire spotting over summer and a veiw for miles and miles. Oh and remember to keep that front wheel down at the start or you won't even make it the first 20 yards. The start line is on an incline aswell as a bend, a bit tricky so be careful.
Having run up the hill the 13 times in recent years while the bikes have been held there, I have won all motorcycle classes each time and am proud to say in 2008 I also beat every car as well.
So now the challenge is on, if you have a bike that meets the requirements below, come and have a great couple of days racing the clock and enjoy the terrific atmosphere and see if ya can outrival the competition.
I'll be there on Elly May (me Norton)
Looks like I am King Of The Mountain again!

It's been a couple of years since I have been able to race here at the Island, (due to injuries) This year I'll be back and we'll see how Elymay and myself hold up hi-speed circut.
2010: Seems I was not able to race at the Island do to a few broken bones, Keith Campbel offered to ride my 750 norton Manxman in the unlimited P3 class and he was able to bring it home with first place outright not to bad at all concidering he was up against some big bangers such as Ken Lucas's 1280 Vincent riden by Jack WRIGHT and a 980 JAP riden by Mark SCHUPPAN.
